ASLIAQ Strategic Plan 2014 – 2017

The Australian Sign Language Interpreters' Association Queensland (ASLIAQ) is a volunteer, non-profit body and is the national peak organisation representing the needs and interests of Auslan/English interpreters and Deaf Interpreters in Queensland.

VISION:

Leading and promoting best practice in sign language interpreting throughout Queensland.

 Ethics

 

It is fundamental to the profession of interpreters that we observe the highest standards of integrity and ethical principles. This is shown through adhering to the ASLIA Code of Ethics.

The Values underlying the ASLIA Code of Ethics & Guidelines for professional Conduct are:

 Professional accountability:

Accepting responsibility for professional decisions and actions.

Professional competence:

Committing to provide quality professional service throughout one's practice.

Non-discrimination:

Approaching professional service with respect and cultural sensitivity.

Integrity in professional relationships:

Dealing honestly and fairly with participants and colleagues.

Integrity in business practices:

Dealing honestly and ethically in all business practices.
